[mytweetlinks] When photographing classic residential architecture in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Carmel or Beverly Hills I bring the same balanced & professional approach to each home: digitally capturing interesting lighting, showing strong symmetry, using care and attention to the details, along with showing the building’s mass and relationship site. Here are a number of projects, the first by New York Architect Eric J. Smith; a stunning Gregorian home in Atherton.
The details. Time of day is important; equally as much as the camera position and the framing elements. For my architect clients I capture the photos that will tell the story in magazines, books and portfolios. I have been the photographer of seven home design and architecture books. During the shoot I wear the hat of creative director and art director; achieving the photos that make great layouts. During the shoot I lend counsel regarding current photo styling trends and assist in styling. It is a collaborative process.
